This listing is for a very unique, hand-made pendant, designed for Civil War relic hunters, metal detecting enthusiasts and history buffs in-general. The pendant is modeled from an actual Confederate "CS" oval belt plate that was worn during the American Civil War by Confederate enlisted infantry soldiers! This pendant was quite a while in the design stage and is titled: "JUST-DUG". I wanted to develop a design that would give wide appeal to Civil War relic hunters. What better representation, than to have that highly sought-after Confederate belt buckle, still in the relic hunter's dig hole with the digging tool still in place? This copyrighted design was carefully laid out to display the vision that most relic hunters dream of, while having an artistic balance with the angles of the buckle and digging tool. The design incorporates a specific rare style of "CS" belt plate that is one of the most rare, having arrow hooks. I personally dug an identical plate way back in 1999 and have been looking for another "CS" buckle ever since! My name is Leonard Short and I have started a new business combining my two past careers of goldsmith/jewelry designer and artifact restoration. The pendant measures 58mm in height (2 1/4 inch) and has a brushed finish with black patina in the recesses to strongly display details. The bail is uniquely crafted with long-term wear in mind. It has an opening that measures 3mm x 6mm in order to accommodate a very substantial chain. In addition, the bail has my signature, hinge mechanism.
