This listing is for a very unique, hand-made pendant, designed for Civil War relic hunters, metal detecting enthusiasts and history buffs in-general. The pendant is modeled after an actual Confederate Staff Officer button that was worn during the American Civil War by high-ranking officers, including Generals! This variety (Albert's CS1) was of highest die and material quality and the original buttons were produced in England for the Confederacy. The design incorporates the legendary droop-wing eagle called for by Confederate General orders, with a lined background and surrounded by 11 stars. On the eagle's shield are those highly sought-after letters any relic hunter wishes to find on an unearthed Civil War relic: "CSA". Most were brought into the Southern supply lines through use of the infamous Confederate Blockade runners. My name is Leonard Short and I have started a new business combining my two past careers of goldsmith/jewelry designer and artifact restoration. The pendant measures 25mm (1 inch) in diameter (the exact same diameter as a modern Washington quarter). The bail is uniquely crafted with long-term wear in mind. It has an opening that measures 3mm x 6mm in order to accommodate a very substantial chain. In addition, the bail has my signature, hinge mechanism.
